''Quercus vulcanica'', the Kasnak Oak, is a rare Turkish species of tree found only in a few locations in western and south-central Turkey.〔(Encyclopedia of Life )〕 ''Quercus vulcanica'' is highly valued in its native region as a source of lumber and also as an ornamental. It is a large tree up to 33 meters tall, with a trunk sometimes attaining 150 cm in diameter. Bark is gray and fissured. Leaves are up to 16 cm long, egg-shaped with deep lobes, green on the top but yellow-green on the underside.〔(Dutkuner, I., & M. Genç. 2001.
